PDF417 Encoding Software

Our PDF417 encoders and associated fonts allow governments, insurance companies and shippers to encode and print machine readable information as industry standard PDF417  “2D barcodes” on their documents and shipping labels using their existing computers and printers.

PDF417 example Portable Data File 417, or PDF417, is a multi-row, variable-length symbology offering high data capacity and error-correction capability for real-world applications where portions of symbols may be damaged or destroyed during handling. PDF417 symbols can be scanned using linear scanners, rastering laser scanners, and two-dimensional imaging devices, including mobile smartphones equipped with cameras. It has become the most general purpose 2D code and is used in a wide variety of applications including driver licenses and ID cards, ticketing, postage franking, transportation boarding passes, hazardous waste identification, automobile registration and inspection stickers, document automation and processing, mobile computing and logistics.
